FrameMaker combines full-featured, WYSIWYG word processing, graphics, layout, and book-building tools into one complete package. An integrated FrameMath capability also typesets, simplifies, and solves mathematical equations. FrameMaker's strong "book-building" tools automate and manage the complicated task of producing long, structured documents with features such as automatic generation of tables of contents, indexes, lists, footnotes, and cross-references. FrameMaker's integrated workstation publishing features allow users to quickly produce documents ranging from multivolume technical manuals to one-page memos and even hypertext-based documents. FrameMaker files of the same version are completely compatible across platforms so users can easily share files in a workgroup environment.
