This bidirectional interface is used by printers and trade shops that have Hell Chromacom pre-press systems. Images that are scanned into the Hell system are transferred to Contex for fast page assembly, tinting, trapping, and compositing. For Hell "Kontu" users (analog scanners), Contex produces a "final page" for the Hell, and eliminates the "Auto" run. For "Konti" users (digital scanners), Konti processing times are even faster than "Kontu." Once Contex processes the file, final pages are plotter-ready. The benefit is offloading the Hell system from PostScript® and stripping pages, thus freeing it for profitable color retouching.
