The Advanced Meteorological Image and Graphics Analysis System (AMIGAS) is an operational meteorological processing system designed and developed by Control Data Systems, Inc. AMIGAS provides extensive capabilities for data capture, analysis, presentation, and distribution of meteorological data and image products. In AMIGAS, real-time communication processors ingest satellite, radar, and observational data and transfer the information to the AMIGAS platform for storage on system databases. Meteorological applications analyze and process this information into alphanumeric, graphics, and image products. The meteorologist interacts with the products via a man-machine interface under an X-Windows environment.
